Upstate vs. downstate ny tax inequality
Why is it that Albany blatantly penalizes upstate ny with substantially higher taxes when we are the ones who can least afford it as wages are substantially higher across the board downstate - its time for a statewide reallocation of property taxes, a drastic cut in the runaway medicaid costs and a tighter rein on local government spending.
I personally propose a secession from ny state altogether - let the downstaters pay their own dirty politicians and outrageous medicaid waste and let us hardworking and heavily overburdened upstate ny'ers enjoy life a little for a change. Perhaps we'd even be able to bring our ex-pat kids back home if the taxes and cost of living weren't so obscenely high. The politicians from downstate turn deaf and dumb when it comes to being fair to upstate and the upstate politicans need to start pounding on some desks and do their job! Here is an idea - how about a tax relief benefit for us poor bastards in upstate ny? Where is our bailout? |
